As dog lovers, we have been watching Crufts this week – if only our dogs were as well behaved as the ones on TV, we could have watched the whole show.
Both our dogs, Hugo (Welsh Terrier) and Phoebe (Airedale Terrier) enjoy watching TV but the only problem is that they never stop barking when a dog is featured on any advert or programme. So you can guess what it was like when Crufts was on. They both have favourite adverts involving cats and dogs and even if they are asleep, they will jump out of bed to make themselves heard. Hugo and Phoebe are the inspiration for the logo of our company, Hugo’s Antiques & Interiors.
Our website features a collection of dog paintings. Throughout history, dog owners have commissioned dog portraits which are not only works of art but also a permanent memory of a much loved pet. The trend has followed to this day and many famous old paintings are now housed in museums and private collections around the world. We have listed a few of our photos above which include a mixture of paintings and interiors inspired by dogs.
